The Chief Engineer will assist to ensure that all systems are functioning efficiently and safely. They will also ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards and licensing bodies.Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

• Project Management:

• Collaborate and work with the Project Manager to plan and execute maintenance and repair projects and provide Project Manager with institutional knowledge of facility.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless project integration.
• Technical Oversight:
  • Provide technical expertise and support to the engineering team.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Review and approve technical designs, plans, and specifications.
  • Maintenance and Operations:
    • Develop and oversee preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment and facilities.
    • Ensure the efficient operation of all engineering systems and equipment.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly and effectively.
    • Resource Management:
      • Allocate resources efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
      • Negotiate with suppliers and contractors for services and equipment.Working Conditions:
        • This position may require occasional travel to project sites and other company locations.
        • The Chief Engineer will work in both office and field environments.
        • The role may involve working outside of regular business hours to address urgent technical issues or project deadlines.Physical Requirements:
          • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
          • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
          • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor and industrial settings.Pay rate:$66.10 per hourREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
            • Employees in this classification must possess and maintain a current license as a Stationary Engineer, First Grade from the State Board of Stationary Engineers Washington DC.
            • Must be a U.S. citizen.
            • Possession of a valid state driver's license is required.
            • Top Secret clearance is required; TS/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance is desired.
            • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field). A Master's degree or professional engineering certification is preferred.
            • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
            • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and industry standards.
            • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
            • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
            • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
            • Proficient in using engineering software and tools.
