Job Description BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Unified
Communications Engineer to support our work as a prime contractor
on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. Accuracy, integrity,
subject matter expertise, and the ability to work well
independently and with others are important traits we expect the
successful candidate to possess and demonstrate. The candidate will
handle the day-to-day VTC Infrastructure operations, Audio/Visual
upgrades and maintenance, project planning and documentation, and
act as the Engineering Lead for the VTC Collaborations Program for
the Strategic Systems Programs (SSP). This position requires you
full time on-site at Washington Navy Yard five days per week.As a
decades long sole source partner on multiple contracts on behalf of
our customer, our program has remarkable stability and is
concurrently experiencing significant growth. Combined, these

the programOur organization has supported the U.S. Navy's Strategic
Systems Program (SSP) continually since the program's inception in
the 1950s. SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched
Strategic Weapon System (SWS), a defense system that is truly
critical to our national security. For more than six decades, SSP
has maintained and upgraded this weapon system and we have been
there every step of the way. The sea-based SWS is the ultimate
stealthy weapon system and as the first leg of the U.S. nuclear
triad. With over 70% of our nation's nuclear arsenal its importance
to maintaining world peace cannot be overstated. The development of
Columbia, the most advanced nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed
submarine ever designed, as well the next D5LE2 weapon system is
under way and will begin to be rolled out over the next decade. The
Navy projects this system to be operational through 2084, meaning
the program will have a total life span of more than 120 years.
This is a truly unique program and BAE Systems employees on this

Description and Responsibilities: As an onsite Unified
Communications Engineer you will manage daily operations of the
Unified Communications subsystems and are responsible for
operations and maintenance of all VTC and Voice over IP devices to
include Call Managers, Session Border Controllers, Voice over IP
endpoints, Video Communications Servers, MCUs, Gateways, room-based
VTC systems, Desktop VTC devices, and other VTC-related equipment.
You will conduct integration and configuration of existing unified
communications hardware, including application of security controls
and management support to the network infrastructure that underlies
the unified communications platform. This position maintains all
aspects of VTC. You will:
patch and upgrade firmware, break/fix
support, and daily operations support, including on-site assistance
for special events; maintain and provide configuration management
information that shall include but not be limited to: equipment
hardware make/model, version numbers of installed software,
as-built drawings, serial numbers, and all passwords;ensure
technical solutions comply with all applicable DoD regulations and
industry standards.monitor system and network operations, and
notify users when systems display non-standard or out of tolerance
behavior;apply technical expertise to mitigate potential system
problems before they occur;resolve all Voice and Video service
interruptions and technical problems in a timely manner, should
they occur; and, ensure all IP and ISDN based Voice and Video
systems are configured in accordance with DISA best practices and
Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).This position
provides enterprise-level system administration for the VTC
enterprise. You will:
resolve system operational problems
by troubleshooting and performing fault isolation and repairs,
replaces, or reprograms faulty equipment, as required;
provides life cycle refresh
projections for unified communications infrastructure, endpoints,
and AV equipment build out projects;conduct site surveys to
establish unified communications systems and equipment based on
customer requirements; and, consult with client(s) and internal
engineering groups to create and/or review requirements, functional
specifications and detailed designsRequired Education, Experience,
& Skills Required Education, Experience & Skills:
- An active DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance
- An IAT II certification as specified in the DoD 8570
- Or, have a SECNAV 5239 qualifying degree AND meet the
requirements for an IAT II as specified in the DoD 8570 within 6
months of start date.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Common Access Card (CAC), badge
access to the customer's facility, and a SSP network account in
good standing.
- Ten years of experience with administration, installation and
repair of Cisco Call Managers and network infrastructure
- Experience developing configuration change plans (CCPs) or
Change Control Board (CCB) plans, and standard operating procedures
(SOP) for unified communications infrastructure, endpoints, and
other related equipment.
- Experience with Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Session Border
Controller, Cisco Call Manager Express
- Experience with DISA STIGs and implementing the security
controls on unified communications infrastructure
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.Technical knowledge and
proficiency
- Expert knowledge of unified communications systems, including
familiarity with foundation technologies, VoIP protocols, and
communication standards to include SIP, TLS, VoIP codecs.
- Strong analytical skills as well as excellent written and
verbal communication skills to include technical documentation
skills, and the ability to teach classes to lower-level staff
members.

related degree and at least 4 - 6 years of position related
experience

Salary Range: $115779 - $196825Please note: This range is based on
our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are
determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to:
