business reasons behind your tasking.We are seeking a motivated and
detailed oriented Network Security Engineer to join our security
operations team. The ideal candidate will have a strong
understanding of information security principles and practices, a
solid foundation in network security, effective communication
skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a desire
to grow in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of secure network
architecture solutions.
- Assist in the deployment and maintenance of security
infrastructure components, such as intrusion detection, traffic
analysis, and logging systems.
- Collaborate on design, implementation, and maintenance of
security controls to protect against cyber threats, including
firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and
endpoint security solutions.
- Monitor network traffic for suspicious activities and potential
threats.
- Perform technical verification and validation of network
security requirements, evaluate, and recommend alternative
solutions.
- Conduct basic penetration testing of network systems.
- Respond to network security incidents and assist in incident
investigations.
- Provide technical support for network security-related
issues.
- Remain up to date on the latest network security trends and
technologies.Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security,
network engineering, cybersecurity engineering or related field (or
equivalent experience in related field).
- 2-3 years' experience as a cybersecurity network engineer (or
similar).
- Understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and security
products (e.g., firewalls, IPSec, IDS/IPS).
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and critical thinking
skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Linux and Windows systems.
- Experience with network automation tools (e.g., Salt, Ansible,
Puppet).
- Knowledge of hypervisors, virtualization technology, and
virtual desktop infrastructure.
- Knowledge of Virtual Machines (VMs), VM capabilities, and
containers.
- Possess basic scripting skills, such as Bash, Python or
PowerShell.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work
independently and as part of a team.
- Applicants selected must be able to obtain and maintain a
security clearance; therefore, U.S. Citizenship is required.
- One or more of the following certifications: CCNA-Security,
CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, Security 5, SSCP, or
equivalent.Education
