Cloud Network Engineer
SUMMARY
The Cloud Network Engineer reports to and works with the CIO, other
IT staff, and consultants/vendors to provide with the technology
infrastructure and support.
Under the direction of the CIO, the Cloud Network Engineer is
responsible for assisting in the administration, maintenance,
installation, security, procurement and planning of the IT
infrastructure and applications ? both on premise and in the Cloud
- and includes the support of all users.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Program Area Development:
? Works with the CIO, for hardware, software and technology service
acquisitions.
? Requires a good understanding of cloud based technologies and
migration of on premise assets to such environments; and includes
the maintenance and administration of such assets in the cloud.
? Familiar with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS concepts.
? Assist in the establishment of redundancy for critical network
elements including internet circuits, wireless, firewalls,
switches, routers etc.

? Requires communication skills including excellent written and
verbal skills.
? Networking:
? Ability to learn new technologies and applications.
? Strong understanding of IT architectural concepts and design.
? Must have a thorough understanding of Microsoft virtual
environments, cloud systems, SSO and federated directory
services.
? Must be able to independently manage and maintain services
specific to enterprise-size networks, such as SharePoint online,
Office 365 components, DHCP, DNS, DPM, WDS, WSUS, SCCM, SCOM, WINS,
Systems Center Virtual Machine Manager, IIS and Active
Directory.
? Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, IP routing, and NATs.
? Assist in the maintenance of the reliability of the network
components of the LAN (local-area-network) and WAN
(wide-area-network) per the SLAs.
? Knowledge and expertise in the installation, configuration and
management of Cisco switches, routers, firewalls and wireless
systems.
? Evaluate and participate in conversion, installation, and
implementation activities for new hardware and software.
? Manage and implement Windows domain and file shares. Should be an
expert in Group Policies.
? Capable of managing a hybrid environment of on-premises and cloud
applications and systems.
? Excellent knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot Ethernet,
fiber, and Internet circuits.
? Expertise in securing Wireless Access Points, Windows systems and
networks.
? Knowledge of Secure Computing best practices including ISO 27001
and 27002 and NIST standards, is preferred.
? Review vendor and security alerts and maintain relevant patch
levels and fixes on all systems.
? Install new/rebuilt existing infrastructure and configure
hardware, peripherals, services, software, storage etc. in
accordance with standards, ITIL best practices and
project/operational requirements.
? Analyze and troubleshoot hardware or software failures and

Microsoft Azure DRP, Amazon Web Services etc.
