Job Overview:A1FED is seeking an experienced Senior Network and Computer Systems Administrator to manage and support a federal agency's IT infrastructure. This role involves administering and optimizing network and system configurations to ensure the smooth operation of the agency's on-premises and cloud-based environments. The Senior Network and Computer Systems Administrator will be responsible for network performance, system availability, and configuration management, playing a key role in supporting the agency's IT modernization initiatives.Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain Agency's network infrastructure, including Cisco, Dell, and VMware technologies, ensuring secure and efficient communication between systems.
• Configure and optimize servers and network hardware (e.g., firewalls, routers, switches) to ensure high availability and performance across both on-premises systems and cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Oversee and troubleshoot network issues, identifying and resolving connectivity problems in LAN, WAN, and VPN environments.
• Monitor network performance and maintain infrastructure security by enforcing network access policies, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
• Implement and maintain virtualization environments (e.g., VMware) to support system scalability and resource optimization.
• Manage user and system accounts through Active Directory (AD) and other identity management tools, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
• Support the migration of Agency's legacy systems to cloud infrastructure, ensuring proper configuration and security of all network components.
• Provide Tier 2/3 technical support to resolve complex issues related to network and systems operations.
• Maintain documentation of network and system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with the agency policies and federal regulations.Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or 8+ years of relevant experience).
• 5-8 years of experience in network and system administration, with a focus on managing enterprise-level IT environments.
• Extensive experience with Cisco, Dell, VMware, and cloud technologies like AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, security principles, and system configurations.
• Experience with Active Directory and identity management systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex network and systems issues.Preferred Qualifications:
• Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
• Experience working in federal government environments.
