Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Marine Operations Engineer to
work onshore at Georgetown shore base.This position reports to:
Integrity and Inspection Lead.Role Purpose:The Marine Operations
Engineer is responsible for supporting the Integrity and Inspection
Lead in all matters relating to marine and cargo operations in the
respective Region and provide active support to existing and future
marine operations in the Region.CORE FUNCTIONS:
- Review the marine related Management of Change processes.
- Ensure the marine related Manuals are up to date.
- Provide expertise and technical support for marine systems
related issues.
- Participate in the investigations of marine related
incidents/accidents/equipment failures.
- Support any emergencies in the LECC (Local Emergency Control
center).
- Keep updated the stability software for the Units in operation
and run the software in the LECC as necessary.
- Review and verify the applicability to the Region units of all
internal SBM alerts such as GTS Alerts, Flash and Incidents Alerts
related to the Marine System.
- Collaborate with the budget preparations for the units.
- Visit the shore bases or offshore sites as required.Marine
Support to the Future Operations in the Region and other Company
Departments:
- Support the Operability and Operations Readiness Department for
the marine discipline by participating in HAZID, HAZOP during the
project phase.
- Review Operations Manuals before issue.
- Participate in pre-sail away audits in the yards and
pre-start-up audits on board the units for the marine
discipline.
- Support and provide marine operational experience to all other
SBM departments such as the Assets Integrity, Technical
Authorities, and the Marine Safety Working Group.
- Ensure Ad-Hoc escalation for relevant Marine-related issues,
providing guidance, support, and technical advice as required.
- Analyze relevant performance indicators and lessons learned, to
promote calibrated Strategy within Short / Medium- and Long-term
framework.
- Promote smart initiatives and KPIs to preserve and create
value.ABS/FLAG and other support:
- Assist in maintaining high level contact with ABS to ensure
that the FPSOs fleet 5 years fee agreement and the RRDA agreement
are in place allowing an effective day-to-day management by the
respective Shore bases.
- Maintain high level contact with BMA allowing an effective
day-to-day coordination by the respective Shore bases of the FPSOs
compliance with flag requirements.
- Liaise with Classification Society Head Office on behalf of the
local Operations Management for requests for exemption, extensions,
etc.
- Review incoming Rules and Regulations updates, verify
applicability to RoW (rest of the world) Fleet and initiate process
to get the RoW Fleet to comply with these updates as required.
- Keep abreast of technological, market, political, financial,
execution, and economic developments in the
offshore/shipping/shipbuilding and related
industries.Qualifications:Engineering Degree, with preference for
Marine Engineering degree.Experience:Not required.Specific skills /
expertise / product:- Basic Office package (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, PDF, and others)Preference if any expertise in:
- Ships / FPSO Deck and Engine marine equipment, Main and
Auxiliary in general.
- Life Saving appliances (Lifeboats, Rescue Boats, etc.)
inclusive Davits and ancillaries.
- Appropriate knowledge of Technical and Regulatory Standards
associated with the above.
- Practical familiarity with computerized maintenance management
systems.
