Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) Designer/Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure design and engineering, with expertise in structured cabling systems, fiber optics, and related low-voltage solutions. As an RCDD Designer/Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and implementing telecommunications designs for various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. This position starts January 1st and requires an active Secret clearance or higher.Responsibilities:

• Design and Documentation: Develop and design structured cabling systems, fiber optic solutions, and telecommunications infrastructure to meet client requirements. Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and design documents.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, clients, architects, and contractors to ensure designs align with project goals and schedules. Attend project meetings and provide technical input as needed.
• Standards and Compliance: Ensure all designs and installations comply with BICSI standards, NEC, and other applicable codes and regulations. Keep up to date with industry standards and emerging technologies.
• Site Surveys and Assessments: Conduct site surveys to gather data and evaluate existing infrastructure. Prepare assessments and feasibility studies for design planning and upgrades.
• Material and Equipment Selection: Select appropriate materials, equipment, and technology solutions to meet design specifications and performance requirements.
• Quality Assurance and Testing: Oversee or support testing, inspection, and troubleshooting of cabling and communication systems to ensure functionality and compliance with design specifications.
• Documentation and As-Built Drawings: Prepare as-built drawings and finalize documentation post-installation. Maintain accurate project records and files.
• Mentorship and Training: Support and mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices in telecommunications design and installation.$100,000 - $140,000 a year
