Job Announcement
Under general supervision, and in accordance with federal, state,
county, and agency regulations, serves in the Sheriff's Office as a
lead worker. Develops and prepares lesson plans, shooting courses,
range maintenance, weapon maintenance, and numerous other tasks as
assigned by the Firearms Range manager, as well as other duties
assigned by supervisors acting on behalf of the sheriff. Instruct
new recruits and incumbents in firearms safety, basic firearms
skills, and advanced firearms skills and tactics. Runs daily
training in a classroom and range setting. Assists in planning and
implementing agency firearms training. Operates and maintains
various weapon systems used by the FCCJA and partner agencies.

Employment Standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent

experience, and training equivalent to") Graduation from an
accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in
education, business administration, public administration, or a
closely related field; plus, three years of professional experience
in curriculum development, delivery of training courses, needs
assessments, and/or facilitation of team-building
exercises.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Driver's License (Required)
Firearms Proficiency-Required upon appointment and recertify
annually (Required)
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a
criminal background check, driving record check, polygraph exam,
and psychological exam to the satisfaction of the employer.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift more than 50lbs. Ability to stand for long periods
of time. All duties may be performed with or without reasonable
accommodations.
