consulting firm focused on the architecture, engineering, and
construction (AEC) industry. We leverage our experience as in-house
AEC marketers to support our clients with on-call resources which
most often include proposal management, interview coaching, website
development, branding, marketing collateral development, strategic

candidate possesses a competitive spirit, excellent writing and
communication skills, sharp attention to detail, paired with strong
organization and time management skills, and a helpful,
collaborative mindset. Enthusiasm for AEC marketing and the ability
to work both independently and as part of a highly functioning team
are required to deliver success.More than 50% of our work is
related to proposal development and interview coaching. As such,
the Sr. Marketing Strategist's role is primarily to work with
clients in developing high-quality, competitive, compliant, and
timely proposal responses - often leading to interview coaching and
supporting other strategic efforts to position clients for a win.
You will not spend all of your time on proposals but being hands-on
with pursuits should be a strong area of interest and
expertise.Responsibilities include:
- Manage the full life cycle of the proposal response process
from initial review and strategy to development, production, and
submittal.
- Research, strategize, and develop content to effectively
satisfy RFP requirements and promote the expertise of clients.
- Lead client meetings virtually (and very rarely in client
offices) to provide leadership to their internal teams.
- Present proposal work to clients to gain feedback.
- Craft persuasive writing and strategic messaging.
- Develop content, including drafting graphics with support from
Middle of Six designers, for marketing materials and
presentations.
- Lead interview coaching including development of strategy and
graphics.
- Proofread and edit technical information, client-submitted
materials, and online content.
- Provide print vendor coordination and quality control
management.
- Execute additional research and special projects, as
needed.
- Meet deadlines through proper management of priorities, target
dates, and asset/document procurement.But the role is not limited
to proposals. We are often asked to support our clients with
pursuit-adjacent marketing tactics which might include conducting a
marketing audit, website audit, proposal audit, or social media
audit and then implementing recommendations such as a brand
refresh, updated brand messaging, digital marketing efforts, annual
marketing planning, and updated or all-new websites. We have strong
resources within our team to deliver all these services. Depending
on the talents of each individual team member, we tailor their
specific role to include areas of interest and professional
development.Career growth. The Sr. Marketing Strategist's role is
on a leadership path to Principal Marketing Strategist at Middle of
Six. We understand that not every marketer aspires to obtain a
principal-level role with all its responsibilities, and we respect
and support that. At this time, we are looking for candidates who
exhibit the skills and communication style suited for a senior
position and the ambition to grow into a leadership
role.Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English,
Marketing, Graphic Design, or similar.
- Minimum of seven years' experience in the AEC industry.
- Strong writing and editing skills with a passion for proposal
development and winning work.
- Experience reviewing Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) and
Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and determining proposal
requirements, preparing proposal drafts, coordinating with
stakeholders to obtain and review materials, and preparing final
responses.
- Experience with design and visual communication.
- Proficiency using marketing and presentation software,
including Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, and
Photoshop), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Teams, and OneNote).
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in both a remote and
in-person team environment, meet deadlines, and efficiently
prioritize work while adapting to our clients' working styles.
- Ability to accept feedback on, and make changes to, creative
work.
- Occasional travel to client offices and to Western Washington

subject line.About our Interview ProcessBuilding a great team is
our top priority and we take a thoughtful approach to evaluating
candidates. Typically, our interview process takes two to three
months to complete. We will keep all candidates informed of our
progress and our ultimate hiring decision.Our process is as
follows:
- Resumes and work samples are reviewed as they are
received.
- Candidates that pass the resume review will receive a 30-minute
phone screen to learn about your skills and salary expectations. As
a small business, MOS is exempt from listing compensation in our
job advertisements, but we will be transparent about the salary
range for this position with candidates that move beyond the
screening interview.
- Candidates that pass the phone screen will move forward to a
virtual video interview with Middle of Six principals to dig deeper
into their skills and approach, and for Middle of Six to describe
our work, client mix, and expectations for the role.
- Reference checks are completed.
- Candidates who move forward after the virtual interview will be
invited to participate in an interactive work session with the
Middle of Six team to assess working and communication style.
- An in-person meeting is anticipated for the top 1 or 2
candidates.
- Employment offer is made.Start DateMiddle of Six's annual team
retreat is scheduled for May 28-30, 2025, in Suncadia, Washington.
Ideally, our new team member would be onboarded in May and attend
the retreat in person.
